I can’t ever remember a time in my life when I was not drawing or painting. I enjoy teaching and have seen many of my students’ progress from absolute beginners to being confident in producing paintings which they go on to sell at exhibitions or take on commissions of their own, there is a section showing some of their work. I am currenty the Secretary of the Thurrock Art Society and I am Responsible for booking demonstrations from visiting artists, as well as organising trips and exhibitions. My aim is to help you learn how to produce drawings and paintings that you are proud of. Along the way you will learn to look at your environment and surroundings with ‘open’ eyes, it’s surprising what we take for granted around us and don’t really see the true beauty of the simplest things sometimes we just need a nudge to notice! I love it when my students tell me things like ‘my wife was amazed with me pointing out the different colours in the sky and clouds; they were just grey and white before you helped me look more closely!’ |
I have a background of working within adult education for many years as an art tutor, teaching various mediums to a variety of students. I have taught basic art techniques to adults with learning disabilities in small groups with some very pleasing results, some of which have also been exhibited to the public at local exhibitions.
